FAQ's

Your MHS Care Package starts when your application is approved, following an initial site assessment. You cannot make a claim in the first 30 days of your application being approved.

If you can cancel your contract within 14 days of the application approval without additional charges and we will refund any premiums paid. Thereafter, you can cancel your contract at any time following a 14-day notice period however cancellation charges may apply. See Cancellation policy in the Terms and Conditions.

The excess is the amount you pay for every completed repair that requires additional parts.

So, if your repair does not require additional parts to complete the repair, you pay £0.

There are no excess charges applied to the Basic MHS Care Package.

If you selected the *Standard MHS Care you will be required to pay a fixed £70 excess charge on parts for each call out. This charge does not apply to subsequent visits made within 30 days to fix a fault identified in the initial callout.

General safety advice

  • Get your gas appliances checked annually by a Gas Safe registered engineer
  • Always check IDs before allowing anyone into your home

Gas safety in rented properties

  • Speak to your landlord about making sure the boiler is serviced annually
  • Ask for a copy of the safety certificate to be sure

Signs of a faulty boiler

  • Soot around the appliance
  • A yellow or orange weak flame instead of blue flame
  • A pilot light which blows out easily
